BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION & WEIGHT WATCHERS

Christian Salvesen and Weight Watchers have collaborated this year to raise £1065 for the British Heart Foundation's (BHF) lifesaving work.

The fundraising began when Weight Watchers identified some stock that the company could donate to the charity. This included some Weight Watchers cook books and food weighing scales.

Christian Salvesen then sent the products out to all of their sites, where they were offered for sale to staff and visitors.

"We had a tremendous response to this charity appeal," said Mark Catley, General Manager for Christian Salvesen. "Our staff, customers, suppliers and other visitors to the sites have been extremely generous. In total we have raised almost £1100 for the BHF and we have plans to do more fundraising for them later this year."

Weight Watchers themselves have been fundraising for the BHF for over a year, during which time their staff, members and leaders have raised over £200,000 for the charity and hope to continue their support in the future. Christian Salvesen have also been involved with the BHF in the past, donating the use of lorries to transport goods from Weight Watchers to a local BHF shop.

Ged Mitchell, the Supply Chain Manager for Weight Watchers added: "Having seen the success of this fundraising initiative with Christian Salvesen, we will undoubtedly be planning other things that we can do together in the future together to raise even more money for this worthwhile cause."

Douglas Rouse, Head of Corporate Partnerships at the BHF said: "We are grateful to both Weight Watchers and Christian Salvesen for all their ongoing support and would like to thank everyone involved. Their efforts will help the BHF to save and improve the lives of even more men, women and children."
