Lawrence Christensen CBE DCL FILT FIMS * † #
Non-executive director from 1 July 2004. Until then Group Operations Director of Safeway plc with responsibility for the supply chain, logistics and retail operations. Joined the board of Safeway in 1987 and held a variety of posts connected with the supply chain. Awarded a CBE in 1999 for services to the freight transport and logistics industries. Director of the Freight Transport Association. Age 61.

Stewart Oades **
Chief Executive from May 2005. Previously a member of the management board of Exel Plc as Chief Executive of Contract Logistics for the UK & Ireland. This included wider responsibility for retail, consumer and industrial logistics in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and for the retail sector worldwide. Prior to that was Managing Director of Christian Salvesen's food logistics operations from 1993 to 1996. He has also held senior positions at Heron Distribution and Safeway. Age 52.

Alain Poinssot * † #
Non-executive director from 19 September 2005. Until 2001 Mr Poinssot was Chairman and CEO of Geodis SA, one of the leading European transport and logistics companies, a position he held for 4 years. Prior to this, he held various positions with SNCF including spending nine years in charge of the freight division. He is also a non-executive director of Soci?t? Ch?rifienne des Engrais et Produits Chimiques SA, a Moroccan company manufacturing and distributing chemicals and fertilisers. Age 59.

Mark Morris * †

Mark was Managing Director of the Sytner Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of United Auto Group from 2003 to 2005, having previously been Finance Director of the Sytner Group PLC. Previous roles were with Price Waterhouse Coopers where he held various positions in Corporate Finance and Audit. Age 45.
